Why do we have an Interim Pastor?

An Interim Pastor serves a church on a temporary basis. The typical Interim Pastor has come from a full-time pastoral career, has much to offer, and senses God’s call to use his talents and experience specifically to help churches during times of transition between pastors. Given this calling, the Interim Pastor is not a candidate to become the next Sr. Pastor.

The Elders of TVC believe that we, as a church, can benefit greatly by having an Interim Pastor to shepherd us during this time while we search for the man the Lord is calling to be our next Sr. Pastor.

We have called Bob Gillis to serve as our Interim Pastor until we have a new Senior Pastor in place here at TVC. We believe Pastor Bob and his wife Pat each have a lot to offer us during this time of transition.

Because the duration of this role depends upon the arrival of the new Sr. Pastor, we have called Pastor Bob for a 4-month term, which can be extended beyond that; as we see how the search for Sr. Pastor develops in the coming weeks.
