Reopening FAQs

When are you opening?

In-person Sunday Worship Services are now happening.  We hope you can join us at 9:15am or 11:00am.

What if I am not comfortable attending in person?

We understand that not everyone is comfortable or able to be in-person. We will continue to update our Video Stream page each week with the worship service so you can join us from home.  If you are not yet part of a small group, we encourage you to get connected to one to stay connected with  our community.

Will services still be available online?

The first service will be livestreamed at 9:15 and will be available on our website at 3vc.org/livestream, not only as the service occurs but also afterwards on demand. The services will also will also be available on our YouTube channel

How do I attend?

You will need to sign up each week to attend a worship service.  The three ways to sign up are:

Respond to the email invitation:
Every week, you will receive an e-mail invitation to the upcoming Sunday services. If you’d like to come, click the RSVP button, and then follow the steps to choose your service and indicate how many people will be attending with you. If you are not receiving those e-mails, send a message to ask to be added to the list; please include your name and the service you wish to attend that week.   Also, if you don’t wish to be on the invitation list, send an e-mail and ask to be removed.

RSVP through our link we send out each week:

Call the office for assistance:
Call the 3VC office Monday - Friday 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM, (631) 941-3670, to be added to the email invitation.

What if I am new?

If you know before Sunday that you want to come or bring a friend, please e-mail Monday-Friday 9:00 AM - 4:15 PM, event@3vc.org to be added to the list. We will reserve a small number of spaces for visitors on Sunday mornings, but it’s better if you can let us know ahead of time.

What will Sunday mornings look like?

When you arrive (please come 5-10 minutes early!), please enter through our main entrance. There will be a greeter there to welcome you and answer any questions you have.  Masks will be required the entire time inside the building on Sundays.  Masks will be provided if you need one.
Your first stop will be at our check in tables.  Once you’re checked in, greeters will direct you and your group towards the sanctuary where an usher will help you find a seat that is appropriately distanced according to NYS guidelines.
The service will be shortened to about an hour, and masks or face coverings will be worn the entire time. There will be singing, prayer, Scripture reading, and a sermon.

Will there be bus pick ups for Stony Brook college students?

Stony Brook Campus bus pick ups are on pause. See the Young Adults page for more information.

Will there be youth/children's classes?

Our children's programs for PreK-5th Grade has resumed at the 9:15 service only. Nursery is currently on pause. Kids must be pre-registered to attend our children's program. You can pre-register your children here.
To find more information out about our children's program's see the Kids page.
In addition to reopening up our children's programs, please check out the Guidelines that have been put into place to reopen safely.

Do you clean between services?

Yes!  Our team of volunteers takes time to wipe down all high-touch surfaces between services, and our HVAC system has been upgraded to MERV-13 filters to refresh the air between services.

What about items handed from person to person, like offering?

We have eliminated the surface-to-surface contact that happens when passing an offering plate.   We thank you for your continued financial support of Three Village Church!  If you wish to give by check, there is a dropbox installed outside of the office, or you can send your donation to the church via mail or your bank’s bill pay.
If you wish to give online, go to 3vc.org/give.

Will you still be handing out a printed bulletin?

We have eliminated most handouts and will not be handing out a weekly bulletin at the moment. However, we do have an e-bulletin that you can find on our Videostream page under our stream where it says "This Week's Announcements".  Or, you can access our e-bulletin by signing to receive our 3VC Weekly. Please email the office if you would like to sign up to receive this email.

How can I help?

We need lots of volunteers to keep everyone safe and follow the NYS protocols. Contact Priscilla  if you’d like to be part of the team, from greeting and registration to cleaning and audio/visual.

Will there be coffee and bagels?

For the time being, we will not be providing coffee and bagels, and we ask that you also refrain from bringing food or drink into the sanctuary, as eating and drinking would require the removal of your mask.

Will there be communion the first and third Sunday?

For the time being, we will be doing communion one Sunday each month using individual, pre-packaged elements. Check out this video on how we are doing communion during Covid.

Who needs to wear a mask?

We ask that all those age 3 and up wear masks or face coverings that cover both nose and mouth when they enter the building and keep them on the entire time. Extra masks will be available at the entrance if you need one.

What are your safety protocols?

In addition to following the NYS state guidelines for distancing, capacity and masks, we have also improved our air filtration system, and will be cleaning high-touch surfaces between services. We have also installed additional hand sanitizers at frequent intervals around the building.
